Volunteer to Help Needy Children in California
There is a great demand in California for children from low-income families who would greatly benefit from reconstructive plastic surgery. Often times, families are turned down by insurance companies since their insurance "doesn't cover this type of surgery" or they are under-insured. One would assume that surgery to correct disfiguring physical conditions, and their unfortunate side effects, would fit the definition of "necessary" and considered critical to good health. However, this is not always the case and often these procedures are not covered by health plans, requiring many children to continue through life with facial abnormalities and other disfiguring conditions.
CSPSERF is calling for qualified medical professionals to help in this mission of providing reconstructive plastic surgery to California's children in need. Without the knowledge and skill of California's medical professionals, these children would not have the opportunity to benefit from the life changing results that plastic surgery can bring to them. Consider donating your time and expertise to make a difference in a child's life.
Are you a doctor who has a patient who could benefit from reconstructive plastic surgery but who does not have the resources (i.e. insurance and/or finances) to have the procedure done? If so, we may be able to help.
Contact us for more information or fill out the patient referral form and send to us (see below).
